Mainly in Maine

Having recently returned from a visit to Maine, I can’t get the place out of my mind.  The landscape and endless forests going right up to the rocky coastline are something I had never seen.  The varieties of trees, so many new to me were intriguing especially the beautiful birches, their intricate bark like works of art standing out amongst the deep green forest.   I kept on thinking of a carpet pattern based on the subtle texture and shade variations.

The Maine lobster traps sprawled along roadsides, harbours and outside houses; the iconic lighthouses and boats bobbing in the bays; the weather vanes and cupolas and the vistas of forest ending in a lake with perfectly still and crystal clear water, with the rocks and pebbles visible below….

Enjoy the images, I couldn’t stop clicking.
