The Delights of Dyeing…

Since attending a dyeing course run by Slipstream/Melanie Brummer we have been dyeing our fabrics in ways we have not tried before…with spectacular results.  We are brimming with enthusiasm over our new skills, it is easy to get a dyeing effect, but difficult to do it well, evenly spaced and carefully done.  We also have to be extremely careful with how the dye acts as we are dyeing pieces that have been already woven so there is only one chance to get it right.  We will focus on smaller pieces like scarves, shawls and cushion covers until we move onto the larger blankets and throws.

I have always wanted to be able to print on our fabrics but have had difficulties with the fluff level and adherence and sharpness of the pattern.  However, this seems to be the answer, and provides and distinct and unique pattern.

    Dear Ilze

Thank you for your email. You are most welcome to visit our studio, but you would need to confirm your dates for your visit. We are not open on weekends or the last Friday of the month, and April is full of public holidays.

Visit the website http://www.swazimagic.com for information on Swaziland’s attractions and accommodation options.

    Kind regards
