Winter days…

I love this time of year, where everything seems to retreat into the earth, or curls back into a dormant state to rest and restore itself for the coming Summer.  The bare bones of the landscape are exposed, the dried long grass, the bare trees, and skeletal shrubs.  It is always the best time for planning.  This week’s cold snap was sharp and thankfully short, it focuses your attention on one’s own need to hibernate.  Weaving warm mohair blankets seems so relevant…and the soft mohair carpet next to my bed that I step on to with my bare feet every morning is too.
